Spruce Up Pup Shampoo Bar
Get your dog smelling fresh and more with this easy-to-use shampoo bar. The essential ingredients help to protect your pup beyond shiny locks. With a high concentration of antiseptic organic compounds, this shampoo bar helps prevent infections, eases skin discomfort, & eliminates bacterial-driven odor.
Ideal for treating:
- Psoriasis and itchy, flaky skin
- Canine acne
- Skin sores
Step One: Shampoo
We recommend starting with a full body treatment by cleansing your pup using our Spruce Up Pup shampoo. To get your dog spruced up, simply rub the shampoo bar on your dog’s wet coat, making a rich, creamy lather. Add more water to help increase suds if necessary. Thoroughly massage the shampoo deep into your dog’s coat, rinsing completely when done. Grab a towel to dry your fresh pup off & toss him or her a treat for a successful bathtime!
Step Two: Soothe Skin
Follow up by spot treating any irritated areas using our Skin Soother balm.
With a distraction in tow (we love training treats or maybe their favorite toy) clean up any excess dirt or debris evident around the affected area. Use two fingers or a low-absorbent cloth to apply a generous amount of Skin Soother covering the area completely. Allow the area to dry (a nice belly rub always does the trick!) and follow up with a treat or play time for a positive reward!
Repeat one to three times daily. Consistent & frequent application to open wounds is crucial to protect against infections & harmful bacteria. Decrease application as the area improves.
WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF?:
Luckily, Natural Dog Company organic healing balms will still work even if most of it has been licked off! The key is to apply as often as possible – especially before bedtime when bodies are in healing mode. It is also a beneficial time because your dog is relaxed and less likely to resist. The more time the product is allowed to penetrate, the better results you will get. Distractions work wonders! Try a giving your dog a Gnawer to chew on, treats, mealtime, a dab of peanut butter, belly rubs or play with them for a few minutes while the balm works it’s magic!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY SKIN SOOTHER?
We recommend applying at least 2-3x daily. Frequent application to open wounds is important to protect against infections and to kill any existing bacteria. Be sure to apply generously, covering the entire area. Decrease use with improvement.
HOW SOON SHOULD I SEE RESULTS?
This is hard to say, it is varies greatly depending on the initial condition and frequency of use. Many customers see incredible results within the first week, while others may take longer. It is important to apply multiple times daily and try to distract your dog from licking in order to get the best results.
What is the pH of your shampoo bars?
A pH higher than 7 is considered alkaline and pH level below 7 is acidic. Our cold process soap is made naturally, therefore is naturally alkaline with a pH of around 10. This pH helps to gently clean your dog’s skin and coat. An added bonus of this pH, is that we do not need to add harmful chemicals to fight off bacteria from forming on the bar.a
