Having trouble choosing which shampoo is right for your pup? You really can't go wrong. Spruce Up Pup is ideal for dogs with eczema, skin sores, and rashes, while Sensitive Skin is perfect for dogs of all ages and breeds.
Step One: Shampoo
We recommend starting with a full body treatment by cleansing your pup using your shampoo bar. To get your dog spruced up, simply rub the shampoo bar on your dog’s wet coat, making a rich, creamy lather. Add more water to help increase suds if necessary. Thoroughly massage the shampoo deep into your dog’s coat, rinsing completely when done. Grab a towel to dry your fresh pup off & toss him or her a treat for a successful bathtime!
Step Two: Soothe Skin
Follow up by spot treating any irritated areas using our Skin Soother balm.
With a distraction in tow (we love training treats or maybe their favorite toy) clean up any excess dirt or debris evident around the affected area. Use two fingers or a low-absorbent cloth to apply a generous amount of Skin Soother covering the area completely. Allow the area to dry (a nice belly rub always does the trick!) and follow up with a treat or play time for a positive reward!
Repeat one to three times daily. Consistent & frequent application to open wounds is crucial to protect against infections & harmful bacteria. Decrease application as the area improves.
WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF?:
Luckily, Natural Dog Company organic healing balms will still work even if most of it has been licked off! The key is to apply as often as possible – especially before bedtime when bodies are in healing mode. It is also a beneficial time because your dog is relaxed and less likely to resist. The more time the product is allowed to penetrate, the better results you will get. Distractions work wonders! Try a giving your dog a Gnawer to chew on, treats, mealtime, a dab of peanut butter, belly rubs or play with them for a few minutes while the balm works it’s magic!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY SKIN SOOTHER?
We recommend applying at least 2-3x daily. Frequent application to open wounds is important to protect against infections and to kill any existing bacteria. Be sure to apply generously, covering the entire area. Decrease use with improvement.
HOW SOON SHOULD I SEE RESULTS?
This is hard to say, it is varies greatly depending on the initial condition and frequency of use. Many customers see incredible results within the first week, while others may take longer. It is important to apply multiple times daily and try to distract your dog from licking in order to get the best results.
What is the pH of your shampoo bars?
A pH higher than 7 is considered alkaline and pH level below 7 is acidic. Our cold process soap is made naturally, therefore is naturally alkaline with a pH of around 10. This pH helps to gently clean your dog’s skin and coat. An added bonus of this pH, is that we do not need to add harmful chemicals to fight off bacteria from forming on the bar.a

Our Cali is scratching less and her hair is starting to grow back.
Our frenchie has suffered from severe keratosis on her nose for a very long time. My husband and I consulted with our vet about it twice - who has an English bulldog with the same problem - to no avail. We put coconut oil on her nose several times a day for over a month, and that did nothing. I was sick over it because I knew it had to be uncomfortable for her. It was horrible. I purchased Snout Soother (and Skin Soother), after happening upon their ad on Facebook. Although it was pricey, I read the glowing reviewed and thought I'd give it a try. People, honest to ***, after four days of one application a day, I swear our Frenchie's nose is almost completely healed. Two more days and it will be back to normal. It has been YEARS since we have seen a healthy nose on her. I am just in awe of this product.
In addition, she has severe hot spots on her two forelegs. The vet prescribed a daily dose of Apoquel, which seemed to do nothing for her allergies. After several months, I discontinued it because her liver enzymes were elevated. Don't know if it was from the Apoquel, but it didn't seem to be doing anything for her anyway, and decided to take her off of it. Again, after four days of applying Skin Soother to the hot spots on her legs, these areas are almost completely healed. I just cannot believe it. I have never had a product - for humans or dogs - be so effective. I consider it a blessing that I found these two products. If you are worried and on the fence, just purchase it.…
I have been using the product for about 2 weeks now and LOVE IT. Smells so wonderful and is very easy to apply. My female GSD has a little dry spot on her elbow, which I have been using skin soother on, and it has all but cleared it up completely.
And the customer service and ease of having questions answered and/or problems resolved is really stellar. Keep up the great work!
For the past 3 years I have been giving my Mastiff/Bulldog mix benadryl, apoquel (I'm sure these are misspelled) and have tried many creams, Natural Dog Company Skin Soother is the first thing that has helped him with his seasonal allergies. This is a dog that was abandoned due to losing the fur down his back from allergies. We have now had him for 4 years still no fur on his back, but the hotspots and redness on his neck have gone down to almost nothing in 2 weeks! Thank you!!!!
I purchased a small sample size off Amazon because I was skeptical about the claims but it worked wonders in quickly clearing up a rash on my dogs neck. He seemed to find it soothing, or at the very least it didn't sting or burn him because he happily let me apply it. I will purchase a larger size soon to have on hand for future itchy situations
